Uncertain how to tackle a design problem? Do not know how to start a design solution? Design Processes and Methods helps you organize your thoughts, develop an analysis structure and devise a synthesis scheme. It addresses some of the hardest tasks in design development, that is, the pre-design programming, concept development, concept materialization and design processing. The book applies a sequence similar to what designers follow when they plan their design studies and process their solutions. The sequence starts with problem identification, interpretation and research. It moves to case studies, program development and context analysis. The previous studies are intertwined in program mapping to site which generates a schematic prototype for design products. The book, then, addresses concept derivation, development and translation, and moves from the pre-design to the design management issues. These culminate in a demonstration of two design methods, which are scenario-based design and precedent-based design. All parts are discussed in detail and illustrated by detailed graphic diagrams, images and examples.
