Gene LaCroix's journey didn't start in an arena or spotlight. It began in the quiet corners of a father's imagination—a dream passed down from one generation to the next. His father's dream was found behind the iron curtain, in a moment where hope met reality and set the course of young LaCroix's life journey. "Thanks to My Father's Dream" is a memoir steeped in values—family, resilience, and passion. From humble beginnings to standing ovations, LaCroix built a life at the center of a dazzling world—the National Horse Show arena. These pages tell the story of his years of championships and applause, shaped by unforgettable intersections next to icons like Wayne Newton, Bob Hope, Mike Nichols, the Beach Boys, and Dr. Armand Hammer.
The true heart of this book isn't found in celebrity or acclaim—it lives in the quieter reckonings of loss, identity, and what it means to come back when the world stops cheering. This is more than a memoir; it's a chronicle of reinvention. When fame faded, LaCroix faced silence, heartbreak, and a reckoning that stripped away illusion. He meets pain with honesty, reflecting on missteps with a wisdom that doesn't seek absolution but understanding. His voice is vulnerable and grounded—carried not by ego but by reverence for the horses and the enduring legacy of the LaCroix family.
For horse enthusiasts, "Thanks to My Father's Dream" offers a rare insider's view into the majesty and complexity of equestrian life. For readers drawn to stories of resilience and family, it holds a mirror to what we inherit, what we build, and what we carry forward when the lights dim.
Through heartbreak and triumph, his story becomes yours. A memoir that won't just stay with you… it will make you move. It will make you cry… in the best way.
