This is a beautiful expression of the thoughts and inner workings of a mind that transcends the barriers of language. The 'felt reality' that Jagdish Prakash's collection of poems expresses, reveals feelings that are personal and at the same time universal. Not only do his poems reflect his own experiences and thoughts, they also voice shared sentiments and mythological reverberations from different cultures. His thoughts seamlessly transition from thoughts into words, celebrating each moment as one experience and 'packed nostalgias'. His thoughts are not limited by language; any language other than English could well have been used instead. The reading of personal experiences is simple, stark, yet powerful. In fact, the strength of this verse lies in its very simplicity. He is equally adept and forceful in his expression in the acquired language as he is in his native one.
