She has won local, national, and international awards for reporting. A 20-year public servant, she has worked in communications in the Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia governments. She is an amateur historian and genealogist, and a writer of historical fiction and short stories. She splits her time between her church home in Rawdon Gold Mines, Hants County and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
