Pope St. John Paul II said there is nothing the world needs more than Divine Mercy, yet few people understand exactly what Divine Mercy is and why it is so critical for our times. Now there's one book that summarizes it all in an easy-to-understand way! Have you ever wondered "What exactly is Divine Mercy and who is St. Faustina?" Would you like to know how to receive the extraordinary promise Jesus offers only one day a year, on Divine Mercy Sunday? Have you ever asked, "How could a merciful God allow so much suffering in the world?" If you answered yes to any of these questions, Understanding Divine Mercy by Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, is for you. In this first volume of his Explaining the Faith series, Fr. Chris shares, in his engaging style, the elements of the Divine Mercy message and devotion and explains why Jesus told St. Faustina that Divine Mercy is "mankind's last hope of salvation."

Father Chris Alar, MIC, entered the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception, the religious community entrusted with spreading the message and devotion of Divine Mercy, as a postulant in July 2006. After working as an engineering manager at a large automotive supplier in Detroit, he began his own consulting firm in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2000.Answering the Lord's call, he attended Franciscan University of Steubenville, in Ohio, for his philosophy studies; Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C., for his theology studies; and he earned his Masters of Divinity degree from Holy Apostles Seminary in Cromwell, Connecticut. He was ordained to the priesthood on May 31, 2014.Father Chris offers the popular "Divine Mercy 101" and "Explaining the Faith" YouTube series and is the author of the bestselling books After Suicide: There's Hope for Them and for You (with Fr. Jason Lewis, MIC), and Understanding Divine Mercy. He is host of the EWTN show Living Divine Mercy, which airs on Thursdays, 10 p.m. EST. From 2014-2024, Fr. Chris served as "Fr.
