This book renders golden homage to the esteemed 12th century Tibetan master and teacher Gampopa. B Simhananda offers the reader an in-depth contemporary rendition of Gampopa's original book, which has inspired within the last nine centuries thousands of Vajrayana, or Essence Mahamudra, practitioners. In his astute contemplative commentaries, the author has consistently kept true to the spirit of Gampopa's treasured work, which over the ages, has proven to be an essential study companion for all students on the arduous climb to the peak of illumination and ultimate clarity. All things being subject to cyclic recurrence, this remarkably modern rendition of the small Gampopa masterpiece is once more proving to be an indispensable tool on the progressive path to freedom. It is spiritually bound to touch the heart and clarify the mind of the present-day generation of erstwhile disciples, irrespective of the preferred dharma-vehicle chosen, or deity espoused.
B Simhananda is an award-winning author of photographic and inspirational books, and has been an experienced speaker for approximately 40 years. Erudite, poet, music lover and art collector, this avid 'terra' traveler captures the essence of his many travels through his photography and writings. His work bears living testimony to his deep understanding and mastership of the Buddhist tenets and teachings. He lives near Montreal, Canada.
