The first known map depicting Don Quixote’s adventures was drawn by the royal cartographer Tomás López and published by the Real Academia Española in 1780. This new map is a contemporary attempt to trace the three journeys and situate them within a carefully rendered geography, with both topography and waterways depicted in detail. It also includes most of the other locations mentioned in the work.
