Manchester City fans are known for their loyalty, sense of humour and ingenuity; supporting the club through thick and thin down the years. From a club teetering on the verge of extinction to the modern day superclub currently enjoying its greatest ever season, Blues have endured and enjoyed greater highs and lows than most. Author Don Price, former chairman of the Prestwich and Whitefi eld City Supporters Club, traces these experiences from the 1950s to the present day, taking in ordinary supporters' tales of following their beloved club. From the fans who hired a fi shing trawler to watch City play in the Faroes to the hardy few dozen who made a 48 hour round trip to Portsmouth on New Years Day 1965, right up to the hardy souls who ticked Shakhtar Donetsk off their list this season, the passion of the contributors shines through. Above all City fans showed the unbreakable bond with their club throughout the lean times and now at long last the fans are reaping some reward for their unswerving loyalty..
Don Price has been a Manchester City fan all his life, following the blues from the early 60s onwards. He joined the Royal Navy in 1969 and served for 8 years. He went on to work for the NHS for 30 years until he was made redundant. He was also chairman of one of the largest and most active City Supporters Clubs - Prestwich and Whitefield. He then trained as a driving instructor (which is a book in itself!). Don is the author of the very funny and best-selling book A Football Fans story - The Royal Navy, Manchester City And Me. Don is married to Catherine, they have two sons Steven and Sean and a granddaughter Ayla.
