The mechanisms of doing business aimed at achieving a high level of company performance are changing. This requires adequate instruments based on the solid pillars of strategic management. Undoubtedly, the key ontological components which determine the success of an organization are effective and efficient business models, strategies and business processes. A kind of strategic hybrid emerges that shapes the principles of doing business subject to pressure, constraints and emerging opportunities. In this approach, companies implement strategies for growth and development not only to survive, but also to achieve strong competitive advantages. Value creation is another area of the development of management science and management practices, defining key factors underlying the conceptualization and operationalization of business models, strategies and business processes. The abovementioned concepts are nowadays widely discussed, creating a new dimension of strategic management.This monograph consists of chapters focused on both theoretical and practical conditions of modern companies, specifically focused on building effective and efficient business models, strategies and hybrids. This monograph primarily refers to new research perspectives which determine the new challenges of strategic management. The aim of the monograph is to present views and approaches to strategic management determined by the development and growth of companies through building their business models, strategies and hybrids.The goals of this monograph are to:- determine key trends in the theory and practice of management science,- define key ontological factors and their use in the dynamic management of modern companies,- present the new dimensions of strategic management as seen through the eyes of the international authors of individual chapters,- and the possibility of applying solutions contained in the monograph.The editor and authors hope that the presented combination of theory and practice will satisfy the needs of readers, in particular managers of modern companies, business consultants and researchers of phenomena in business.","brand":"Nova Science Publishers, Inc","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":65422999650653,"sku":null,"price":152.99,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1041\/3893\/2573\/files\/9781536144079.jpg?v=1789309608"},{"product_id":"9781536164091","title":"Broadband","description":"Broadband -- whether delivered via fiber, cable modem, mobile or fixed wireless, copper wire, or satellite -- is increasingly the technology underlying telecommunications services such as voice, video, and data. Chapter 1 focuses on the gaps specifically related to broadband availability and adoption. How broadband is defined and characterized in statute and in regulation can have a significant impact on federal broadband policies and how federal resources are allocated to promote broadband deployment in unserved and underserved areas as discussed in chapter 2. The move to place restrictions on the owners of the networks that comprise and provide access to the internet, to ensure equal access and nondiscriminatory treatment, is referred to as \"net neutrality.\" While there is no single accepted definition of net neutrality most agree that any such definition should include the general principles that owners of the networks that comprise and provide access to the internet should not control how consumers lawfully use that network; and should not be able to discriminate against content provider access to that network as reported in chapters 3 and 4. The \"digital divide\" is a term that has been used to characterize a gap between \"information haves and have-nots,\" or in other words, between those Americans who use or have access to telecommunications and information technologies and those who do not. Chapter 5 focuses on the one important subset of the digital divide debate which concerns high-speed internet access and advanced telecommunications services, also known as broadband. While there are many examples of rural communities with state-of-the-art telecommunications facilities, recent surveys and studies have indicated that, in general, rural areas tend to lag behind urban and suburban areas in broadband deployment. The Rural Utilities Service (RUS) at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) houses three ongoing assistance programs exclusively created and dedicated to financing broadband deployment: the Rural Broadband Access Loan and Loan Guarantee Program, the Community Connect Grant Program, and the ReConnect Program. Chapter 6 discusses each of these programs. Tribal lands are generally in remote and rugged areas and broadband access can help residents develop online businesses, access telemedicine services, and use online educational tools. However, residents of tribal lands have lower levels of broadband access than residents of non-tribal lands. Chapters 7 through 11 report on the status of broadband on tribal lands.","brand":"Nova Science Publishers, Inc","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":65423935111517,"sku":null,"price":152.99,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1041\/3893\/2573\/files\/9781536164091.jpg?v=1789319283"},{"product_id":"9781536171648","title":"LoRA and IoT Networks for Applications in Industry 4.0","description":"The concept of Industry 4.0 includes both Internet of Things (IoT) structure and the local networks which need to carry the real-time tasks. According to US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), there are more than 30 thousands fatalities caused by the vehicle accidents in the U.S. each year, which worth around $250 billion economic cost annually. Research shows that 82% of these accidents can be reduced by the successful deployment of vehicular networks, because nearly 75% percent of vehicular crashes are caused by inattentive drivers. Literally, vehicular ad hoc networks means a network forms by the vehicles. But it has been evolved to network with the infrastructure as well due to the inherent intermittent nature of vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) connection. The high mobility of vehicles, wireless communication loss and range constraints are the main reason for this intermittent V2V connection. So, now vehicular networks means communication between vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I). There are billions of dollars invested to research, deployment and testing of vehicular networks. For the emerging connected and autonomous vehicle (CAV), a stable vehicular networks is the foremost requirement. It is now very much visible that CAV will be the future of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). The book is dedicated to discuss for the techniques, applications and relevant technologies of vehicular ad hoc networks and its challenges. The first chapter discuss about the routing protocols of vehicular networks. It focuses on different position-based routing protocols and their mechanisms for the successful use of vehicular networks for different applications. The second chapter discusses on the security and privacy issues on vehicular networks. A well-known security technique called Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) is discussed to secure vehicular data from various tampering attacks. The third chapter discusses on the on-demand wireless broadcasting mechanism for improving data dissemination performance in terms of data delivery ratio and response time. A network-coding based approach has been investigated for improving the overall performance of existing classical data broadcast algorithms. The fourth chapter describes how to get a dependable system in the lossy communication medium. This chapter discusses on a number of fault diagnosis techniques, their strengths and weaknesses, and it reviews their implementations in mobile wireless networks. The fifth chapter discusses the basics of Blockchain technology, applications, research challenges and opportunities in the field. Finally, chapter six discuss about the identification and mitigation of the faulty nodes in the wireless network.","brand":"Nova Science Publishers, Inc","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":65424370499933,"sku":null,"price":129.74,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1041\/3893\/2573\/files\/9781536180381.jpg?v=1789331860"},{"product_id":"9781560725770","title":"Netlife","description":"The central questions around which this book revolves are whether or not communication through technology constitutes so-called real interaction and whether the establishment of real community is possible solely through electronic technology. Its main scope is to rationalise the engineering process at the basis of peer-to-peer (p2p) file-sharing systems. The work analyses the architectural blueprints, the design choices, the internals, the core algorithms, their interaction with the underlying network infrastructure and some of the major findings of the scientific community. With such foundations, it will be straightforward to understand the main behaviours of these systems, their strengths and weaknesses and to correctly evaluate the resulting traffic patterns. As a consequence of the widespread diffusion of file-sharing applications, of their impact over the network in terms of traffic load, and of the kind of content conveyed, different parties are interested in the topic. Specifically: academics and researchers, students, network administrators and businessmen. The major topics covered in the book are: a quick historical revision of file-sharing applications; an introduction to the p2p communication paradigm, focusing on aspects strictly related to their adoption to engineer file-sharing applications; the analysis of the basic components and the core functionalities needed to implement an effective file-sharing service; a discussion about problems arising due to the lack of transparency in the modern Internet and the main traversal techniques available; the investigation of the most popular heuristics employed to force file-sharing users to play an active role within the overall service; a detailed dissertation on eMule and BitTorrent applications, \"specialising\" the theory presented in the rest of the book; client interface modifications, tweaks and optimisation applied to file-sharing architectures; traffic analysis of file sharing applications: results, methodologies and tools; a quick investigation of the source code of the most popular client interfaces (with hints at protocol implementation, possible modifications to enhance performances, and data gathering to conduct research and to exploit system optimisation).","brand":"Nova Science Publishers, Inc (US)","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":65426993906013,"sku":null,"price":86.99,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1041\/3893\/2573\/files\/9781607415947.jpg?v=1789388879"},{"product_id":"9781610350525","title":"The Bootstrapper's Guide to the Mobile Web","description":"Creating a successful mobile-web presence is achievable with the tools found in this guide--without needing to learn a programming language or become a Web designer. Grid infrastructures have been harnessing computational resources all around the world allowing all kinds of parallelisms to be explored. Other approaches to parallel and distributed computing still exist like the use of dedicated high-performance (HPC) infrastructures, and the use of clouds for computing and storage, but grid computing continues to be the predominant technology used for scientific computing in Europe, through the European Grid Infrastructure (EGI) and the European Middleware Initiative (EMI). Currently, there is a trend towards the use of cloud technologies for computing and storage. In Europe, this trend is being followed by taking advantage of all the experiences gained from building grid infrastructures and the technologies developed around them (resource management orchestration, unified job description languages, security, user interfaces, programming models, and scheduling policies, among others). As a result, the European Grid Infrastructure Federated Cloud is being built on top of the grid infrastructure already available. After almost two decades of the development of grid software and components and the emergence of competing technologies, now is the time to discuss current trends and to assess future prospects. When organising this book, the authors considered contributions that would review the current grid computing scenario as well as contributions that would summarise the main tools and technologies used so far. The chapters in this book provide reviews for the following topics: a) performance prediction for parallel and distributed computing systems, b) resource sharing on computational grids, c) economic models for resource management, and d) programming frameworks. The chapters address grid issues such as a) the challenges of designing efficient job schedulers for production grids, b) scalability analysis of bag-of-tasks applications, c) the energy efficiency of resource reservation-based scheduling, and d) the development of parallel applications using the grid environment. Additionally, the following tools are presented: a) a programming framework based on the concept of a pluggable grid service that avoids explicit calls to grid services in scientific code and b) a desktop grid framework that runs on top of a cloud and can be deployed on the fly. On January 10, 2014, Target announced that personal information, including the names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses of up to 70 million customers, was also stolen during the data breach. A report by the Senate Committee on Commerce in March 2014 concluded that Target missed opportunities to prevent the data breach. This book answers some frequently asked questions about the Target breach, including what is known to have happened in the breach, and what costs may result. It also examines some of the broader issues common to data breaches, including how the payment system works, how cybersecurity costs are shared and allocated within the payment system, who bears the losses in such breaches more generally, what emerging cybersecurity technologies may help prevent them, and what role the government could play in encouraging their adoption. The book addresses policy issues discussed in congressional hearings and describes some of the legislation that Congress has introduced to deal with these issues. This book also presents an explanation of how the Target breach occurred, based on media reports and expert analyses that have been published since Target publicly acknowledged this breach.","brand":"Nova Science Publishers, Inc (US)","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":65433129943389,"sku":null,"price":122.99,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1041\/3893\/2573\/files\/9781633212695.jpg?v=1789251849"},{"product_id":"9781634632614","title":"Virtual Civilization in the 21st Century","description":"This book analyzes a new phenomenon in civilization: the transformation of the current \"Information Wave\" into virtual civilization. One important subset of the digital divide debate concerns high-speed Internet access and advanced telecommunications services, also known as broadband. Today, Americans turn to broadband Internet access service for every facet of daily life, from finding a job to finding a doctor, from connecting with family to making new friends, from becoming educated to being entertained. The availability of sufficient broadband capability can erase the distance to high-quality health care and education, bring the world into homes and schools, drive American economic growth, and improve the nation's global competitiveness. New technologies and services such as real-time distance learning, telemedicine, and higher quality video services are being offered in the market today and are pushing demand for higher broadband speeds. This book discusses progress and issues of national broadband deployment and the digital divide.","brand":"Nova Science Publishers, Inc","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":65433417843037,"sku":null,"price":166.49,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1041\/3893\/2573\/files\/9781634824330.jpg?v=1789261971"},{"product_id":"9781634831857","title":"Network Coding \u0026 Data Compression","description":"In this book, new developments in network coding and data compression are examined. The first chapter proposes a new multipath transmission scheme that employs network coding at the source for rate-delay adaptation. The second chapter presents the theory, applications and challenges of a physical-layer network coding technique that promises significant improvement to the spectral efficiency and interference mitigation challenges in future heterogenous cellular and wireless networks. In this third chapter, network and distributed turbo coding based HARQ protocol are examined for wireless broadcasting systems. The last three chapters included in this book present three models that are based on Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) methodology to appropriately evaluate the efficiency of multicast energy and further minimizes energy transmission in wireless networks without affecting the overall network performance; the development of methods of experimental statistical modeling of physical laws and the cascade scheme of data compression in multimode fibre systems.","brand":"Nova Science Publishers, Inc","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":65433545769309,"sku":null,"price":119.99,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1041\/3893\/2573\/files\/9781634831857.jpg?v=1789265415"},{"product_id":"9781634853590","title":"Virtual Civilization in the 21st Century","description":"This book analyzes a new phenomenon in civilization: the transformation of the current \"Information Wave\" into virtual civilization. It should be said that configuration software, as a kind of application software, rose with the development of personal computers. The development of configuration software is closely related to the development of the industrial control system. With the rapid development of modern industries, the production process continues to expand in scale, and its complexity is increasing. The process of industrial production is now being transformed from labour intensive, equipment intensive, and information intensive to a more knowledge intensive fashion. Configuration software as a product appeared in the early 80s, and was widely used in the late 80s. But before the mid-90s, the configuration software application was not universal. With the applications of industrial control systems widely used around the world, in the face of larger and more complex control systems, users have become gradually more aware of original host computer programming. This mode is time-consuming. The loss outweighs the gains. At the same time, MIS (management information systems) and CIMS (computer integrated manufacturing systems), and a large number of applications require an industrial site for enterprise production, management, and decision-making to provide more detailed and in-depth data in order to optimize the production and operation of enterprises in all aspects.","brand":"Nova Science Publishers, Inc","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":65434293338461,"sku":null,"price":73.49,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1041\/3893\/2573\/files\/9781634858519.jpg?v=1789277872"},{"product_id":"9781935504795","title":"Audacity to Spy","description":"Ever get the feeling you are being watched? The thieves that steal identities are using cutting-edge, high-tech tools that can take one fact from a social media site, another from an online travel survey, a third from a purchase made via the internet and even access highly confidential medical records. Little by little they piece together your buying habits, your religious and school affiliations, the names of your family and pets, your political views, your driving habits, the places you have vacationed, and much, much more. This is not science fiction and this is not the future, this is what is happening to each and every one of us now - today. And although the vast majority of adults say they are concerned about providing personal information online, nearly 1\/3 say they have never used a privacy setting on their computer, never inquired about the charities to whom they donate their money, never worried about someone accessing their medical information and never thought twice about giving a financial institution their social security number over the internet. The Audacity to Spy, written by an attorney with an interest in privacy laws and legislation and her grandmother who is an experienced Information Analyst, reveals the ways in which your identity and personal data have been stolen by various sources. Yes, you should be concerned about the NSA and other government agencies having your phone logs and emails; but you should worry more about the insidious data brokers that are collecting information about you every time you log on to your laptop, use your cell phone, access an app, or use your GPS. Companies are collecting a variety of data about you, combining it with location information, and using it to both personalise their own services and to sell to other advertisers for behavioural marketing. Law enforcement agencies are tracking your car and insurance companies are installing devices to monitor your driving. Clerks are making copies of your credit cards. And if that wasn't enough, the FBI has reported that hackers have been discovered embedding malicious software in two million computers, opening a virtual door for criminals to rifle through users' valuable personal and financial information. More than warning you about the ways your data can be stolen, at the end of each chapter are suggestions for limiting the amount of personal data that is available to be seized and divulged. Can you completely cut off the flow of information about yourself? The answer is no, not completely - there is already too much data out there and increasingly sophisticated ways to obtain bits and pieces. But knowing how it is collected, and by whom, gives you the power to control sensitive information and determine how much of your life you wish to expose to those more than willing to exploit it.","brand":"Technics Publications LLC (US)","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":65441522712925,"sku":null,"price":15.74,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1041\/3893\/2573\/files\/9781935504795.jpg?v=1789105419"},{"product_id":"9788773077061","title":"Organizing for Networked Information Technologies","description":"Organizing for Networked Information Technologies","brand":"Aalborg Universitetsforlag (DK)","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":65452095832413,"sku":null,"price":11.5,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1041\/3893\/2573\/files\/9788773077061.jpg?v=1789153256"},{"product_id":"9798886973907","title":"Information Systems Security in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises","description":"This book is the outcome of a review of literature on the possible concerns and issues Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) would face when adopting the fourth industrial revolution (4IR) technologies. From a review of the current and past literature, this book disseminates insightful ideas and developments in the field of information and cybersecurity. It is intended that these ideas will shape how SMEs now and in the immediate future address information and cyber security risks. This book is also of particular interest to information security administrators managing SME information security, who may gather additional insights on the emergent information security threats facing SMEs that are discussed. A key consideration for this book is the innovative ways that SMEs have adopted 4IR technologies but, in doing so, have attracted unknown information and cyber security risks.","brand":"Nova","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":65456927310173,"sku":null,"price":54.74,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1041\/3893\/2573\/files\/9798886973907.jpg?v=1789739807"}],"url":"https:\/\/shop.gazellebookservices.co.uk\/collections\/computing-networking.oembed","provider":"Gazelle Book Services","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
